02The difference
New homes or existing buildings?
The Future Homes Standard applies to new homes at the design and build stage. MEES applies to existing buildings that are let, and asks landlords to bring them up to a minimum EPC rating. If you are building homes, this is the standard that applies to you. If you let existing property, see our MEES compliance and strategy service.
